Upset with the possibility of winning Eurovision and having to host host the damn thing! Jacques Myard, of the UMP party in France has demanded that they surrender from the start.
Mr Myard told the BBC that allowing an English song to represent France was a fiasco: “The French language is the tool of a huge industry in terms of cultural influence and if we French give up our language, what do you think the others will say?”
I can answer you Mr Myarad……….. Thank f*ck!

Bulgaria are new to the world of Eurovision and have only ever entered 3 times before! In 2005 and 2006 they failed to even make the finals and were left in the semi finals (although it was their first two attempts)
Here is their 2007 entry…. a bizarre drum thing with some Jew’s Harp at the start and singing that sounds like a mix of native American / Bollywood/ Yodeling.

You just don’t get enough Jew’s Harp in modern songs!
Surprisingly that came 5th with 157 points!
This year they have decided to go all 1990’s on us!
Jungle stylee goes into reggae, reminiscing of Prodigy’s Out of space only with rubbish lyrics and singing….. still it is Eurovision and Europe might just fall in love with Deep Zone & Balthazar’s Dj Take Me Away.
Review: Whats originality?
Prodigy after the jump!

Having only started Eurovision in 1994, 3 years after the fall of the USSR. (presumably they had more important things to sort out in those 3 years than enter the Eurovision song contest.) Russia have done well in the competition.
Although they have never won it they have come 2nd twice in 2000 and 2006 and came 3rd in 2003 with “lesbian” duo t.A.T.u and were only 3 points from victory!
This year they obviously don’t want to do anywhere near as well as they have in the past….
Review: pure rubbish what they should have entered was this!

Finland – a country that have finished last on 8 occasions have finally found what eurovision wants! CHEAP HEAVY ROCK!
Lordi – Hard Rock Hallelujah
Europe loves rock especially eastern Europe where the 80’s is still just hitting them and the mullet rules king!

So without further ado here is their next entry…… more 80’s style hard rock!!!
Teräsbetoni – Missä miehet ratsastaa (Where men ride)
Review: Go Finland

Spain have won Eurovision twice…. in 1968 and 1969 (they came joint 1st with 4 others in 69 but didn’t get to host) but since then they have done sweet f’ all in the competition.
In 2006 they tried to win with “Las Ketchup” who had a hit in 2002 with “The Ketchup Song”
Unfortunately the tune wasn’t as catchy and was 4 years late! Europe had moved on and their new song didn’t have an easy dance to go with it! It finished 21st with a dismal 18 points.
So what can Spain do to fix their Eurovision woes?
well……..
“In 2008, TVE decided to select the Spanish entry through the social networking website MySpace, making it possible for anyone to upload a song and proceed to a televised final if chosen by online voters or an expert jury.” – Wikipedia
Give the option to the internet and you will suffer!
the winner of the competition………….
Rodolfo Chikilicuatre – Baila El Chiki Chiki
Review: how can they not win with this! genius
